Gone Bowling...

It is a week of firsts. The first time we have taken the kids to a Bowl Game -- we are in Jacksonville, Florida to watch our beloved Bulldogs in the Gator Bowl!

It is also the first time we have attempted to travel with the Power Chair WITHOUT a Disney bus coming to pick us up. A kind man met us at the airport to hand over a rental van that is completely accessible for Benjamin. I have to say first and foremost that I am THRILLED beyond measure with how things are working so far. He is able to use his own chair which is helping with his exhaustion level and giving him his independence. Huge. It is huge!

But we have been so tickled about the van. It is straight out of the 1970s I think. A conversion van complete with running lights inside (like Broadway, Mason said!) and what we have dubbed the "couch" across the back...

Getting ready to load...

The "couch"...and yes, that is my space between Cate and Claire!

Loading Benjamin...a complete lift as opposed to our ramp.  Makes my heart race a bit every time...

The view from the couch...we aren't having a lot of intimate conversation from here! ha

At dark-thirty this morning we were at First Baptist, Jacksonville for the Gator Bowl FCA Prayer Breakfast. It was amazing and we just happened to run into Coach Dan Mullen heading inside!

So if you need us -- we'll be here. Making memories. Wearing maroon. Laughing at our cool-dude van. And just relishing being together.

Go Dawgs!

YaHOO! Go Dawgs, indeed! I'm feeling a little misty eyed over your groovy van, babe. What a hoot, and a blessing to boot! Have fun! (not that I needed to say that...)
