Another treat for the senses...

We spent an afternoon at the Dole Plantation...or as my family prefers to call it, the DOLE WHIP PLANTATION! Years ago a Disney bus driver encouraged us to try a Dole Whip while at the parks -- informing us that the only THREE places these are served in the country are at Disneyland, Walt Disney World and the Dole Plantation in Honolulu. So when my crew fell in the love with the pineapple-y goodness, we knew we had to try them at all THREE places!

We learned the proper way to select fresh pineapples, as well as how to cut them correctly. My family made sure I took notes...

We learned how to plant pineapples...and how long you have to be patient for them to grow. Did you know it takes 20 months for the first fruit to appear?! We wonder if they will grow in the desert?

We took a train ride through the pineapple fields -- which disappointingly had all been harvested and were being prepared for the next planting. But the rainstorm approaching was beautiful!

Can you see the shape in which the bushes "grow"?!

And we enjoyed -- yummily -- the much-anticipated Dole Whip!

Cate and Lenny being silly!

Learning together is always a blessing!
