Trying to Steal my Cheer...

Someone posted an ugly comment yesterday on my little blog...anonymously, of course.

I fretted for a bit. I considered ending my little blog journey rather than open myself up to such meanness. But, I am kinda stubborn. Just a bit. And frankly, I have this feeling that old-I'm-too-cowardly-to-leave-a-name probably wants to cause me to fret, wants to make me second-guess my willingness to share in such an open forum, wants to hurt my feelings. And uh, well, I refuse to allow such. Did I mention I am stubborn?

Building a house...
So instead, I'll continue to count our blessings in this open way. Because sometimes acknowledging the wonder, the joy, the good that occurs in our day balances out the hard, the challenging, the difficult. And remembering to thank God for the blessings is a mission I intend to pursue forever and always!

So today, I'll focus on the joy of  the Gingerbread Houses we made this weekend! Our first experience into construction of such delightful proportions! We made the icing, piped it onto the walls and roof and decorated like there was no tomorrow...there was giggling, finger-licking and one sneaky fellow who preferred eating the gum drops to decorating with them!
Concentrating on the gumdrop placement...

And this morning -- well Monday dawned early and I may or may not have still been thinking about the meany who tried to steal my joy....and then I walked into the kitchen and THERE it was...the magnificent, lop-sided, not-perfectly decorated Gingerbread House waiting to greet me. And I instantly found my cheer and the memory that this season is about the blessing of family, of love, of a gift that we didn't deserve then or now...the birth of Jesus, our savior.

I am blessed.

Carol, When I read that someone had left a nasty message on your uplifting blog, by first response was anger. Then I started to think of what a miserable and unhappy person that must be to try and tear down something so full of joy. My prayers go out to that person that God will soften his/her heart and bless them through you blog as it has blessed so many others.

It is beautiful. Morgan did one yesterday and it is the ugliest best thing I have ever seen. I love it! I am choosing to leave a comment to bring joy. I said a prayer for the person feeling so much pain in their life that they needed to spread their sadness with others. I pray they find Peace and Happiness. Your family is wonderful. I loved the Christmas card. Thank you for sharing your family with us. It brings us Joy!
Karen, Mike, Matt, Morgan and Sean - and of course Celeste!

Posting nasty, anonymous comments is so totally against the Blogging Creed, Carol. How crass and crude and hurtful. Take heart knowing that you are loved by so many people, and have such an AMAZING family that Ms. Anonymous is likely jealous. I didn't see the comment but cannot imagine it being anything but....LOVE YOU, MS. AMAZING!

I LOVE YOUR ATTITUDE TO FOCUS ON THE AMAZING BLESSINGS GOD HAS GIVEN YOU....I LOVE YOUR BEAUTIFUL HEART AND BASICALLY....I JUST LOVE EACH ONE OF YOU!!!!!

Carol, you keep on posting your precious updates on the marvelous family that God knit so perfectly together for you!

We will just pray for the mean-hearted person that posted yesterday. Obviously, he doesn't know God's love...makes me sad for him.

Go with God and enjoy EVERY blessing that you are able to count!!!

Hugs!
Stefanie
